Mumbai, February 26: Union Home Minister Amit Shah stated on Thursday that the government will systematically remove every intruder from Indian territory. He emphasized that this is not merely an electoral promise but a resolute commitment from the Modi government. “We are not just making promises; we are set to act soon,” he declared.
Amit Shah made these remarks during the inauguration of border outposts ‘Lati’ and ‘Inderwa’ in Araria, Bihar, as well as the e-launch of various initiatives by the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB).
He announced the approval of a 556-kilometer border road under the India-Nepal border road scheme. Out of 18 segments, work on 14 has been completed, while progress is being made rapidly on the remaining four. This development will enhance surveillance capabilities and improve facilities for citizens, aiding in the delivery of developmental programs to the last mile.
Shah praised the SSB for their role in securing the border, noting that they are tasked with protecting a friendly nation’s boundary. He stressed the importance of preventing adversaries and harmful elements from using this route to enter India. Therefore, it is crucial for the SSB to maintain vigilance and strengthen their intelligence sources. Effective communication and interaction with personnel and officials in border villages are essential for gathering accurate information.
He asserted that all illegal encroachments within a 10-kilometer radius of the border will be demolished as part of this campaign. The identification and deportation of intruders will also commence. The regions most affected by demographic changes include Bengal, Jharkhand, and Bihar. With elections underway in Bengal, Shah expressed confidence that the BJP will form the government there. He stated that the first agenda will be to complete border fencing and remove every intruder.
Shah reminded the people of Seemanchal of his promise, seeking their support. He highlighted that intruders not only influence elections but also take away rations from the poor, diminish employment opportunities for youth, and pose a significant challenge to national security. This campaign will soon commence in Seemanchal.
