Amazon Warriors Defeat Trinbago Knight Riders by Six Wickets in CPL Clash

Guyana, September 12 (Daily Kiran) : The Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2026 witnessed an exciting match on September 12 at Providence Stadium, where the Guyana Amazon Warriors triumphed over the Trinbago Knight Riders by six wickets. The Warriors maintained their impressive form, chasing down a target of 127 runs with 18.4 overs to spare.

She Hope was instrumental in the victory, scoring an unbeaten 42 runs off 35 balls, including two sixes and a four. He sealed the match with a boundary off Justin Greaves. Other notable contributions came from Shimron Hetmyer, who scored 28 runs, while Manavendra Dindayal added 19. Quinton Sampson and Glenn Phillips chipped in with 12 and 11 runs, respectively.

Despite the loss, Trinbago’s Sunil Narine delivered an economical bowling performance, taking one wicket for just 13 runs in four overs, including a maiden. Usman Tariq and Lahiru Kumara also claimed a wicket each, but their efforts were not enough to prevent the defeat, as the team struggled with a low total.

Batting first after losing the toss, the Trinbago Knight Riders managed only 126 runs for the loss of eight wickets. Justin Greaves top-scored with 35 runs, while opener Colin Munro and Alex Hales contributed 26 runs each. Akil Hossain and Kieron Pollard added 12 and 10 runs, respectively.

On the bowling front for the Amazon Warriors, Mehdi Hasan Miraz was the standout performer with four wickets. Shamar Joseph took two wickets, while Dwayne Pretorius and captain Imran Tahir each claimed one wicket.
