Firozabad, June 23: Akshay Yadav, a Member of Parliament from the Samajwadi Party, has raised concerns about the functioning of investigative agencies in light of the alleged land purchase controversy in Madhya Pradesh. He also criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for the ongoing defections among various political parties and the absence of Brahmin representatives at a recent event hosted by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
Responding to the land dispute, Yadav accused the investigative agencies of bias. He claimed that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) are being used against opposition leaders. “These agencies are meant for the opposition. Investigate them, prosecute them, and send them to jail. If necessary, bring them into the BJP, and all their cases will be wiped clean like a washing machine,” he stated.
Yadav emphasized the need for a thorough investigation into the matter and appropriate action if any wrongdoing is found. However, he expressed skepticism about the likelihood of fair proceedings, raising serious questions about the impartiality of these agencies.
Regarding the recent departures of leaders from the Trinamool Congress (TMC) and Shiv Sena (UBT), Yadav suggested that such actions might be under pressure from the BJP. He stressed that the primary issue is respecting the public mandate.
He noted that individuals contest elections under a specific party symbol and are elected by the public to represent them in Parliament or the Assembly. If they later switch parties, they should first resign from their positions and seek a fresh mandate from the electorate. He accused those MPs and MLAs who defect after winning elections of betraying the trust of the voters who supported them based on their party symbol.
On the topic of the alleged lack of Brahmin representation at Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s event, Yadav raised questions about the event’s organization. He pointed out that when efforts were made to gather information about the announced plans, it was revealed that the bridges inaugurated had been under construction for nearly a decade.
He alleged that no representatives from the Brahmin community were present on the stage. “We observed that there was no member of the Brahmin caste on the platform. I believe that the Brahmin community has now aligned with the Samajwadi Party, which is why the BJP is trying to marginalize them completely,” he concluded.
