Ahmedabad Polices Mission Fit Khaki Achieves Success with Officers Losing Up to 17 Kilograms

Ahmedabad, June 2: The Ahmedabad Police’s initiative, ‘Mission Fit Khaki,’ aimed at improving the health and fitness of its officers, has proven to be a success. The program concluded on Tuesday, with Police Commissioner G.S. Malik announcing positive results.

Commissioner Malik stated that the ‘Mission Fit Khaki’ program lasted for 12 weeks and concluded on Tuesday. He reported that the outcomes were promising. “Obesity is the root of many diseases. At the start of the program, we conducted weight and blood tests for all participants. After 12 weeks, we re-evaluated their weight and blood tests. Many individuals have lost up to 17 kilograms during this period,” he explained.

He noted that a total of 10 officers lost between 10 to 17 kilograms over the 12 weeks. The program benefited everyone involved, with several participants shedding 7 to 8 kilograms. Some individuals who previously had high blood pressure have stopped their medications after participating in the fitness program. Others who were on diabetes medication no longer require it.

The Police Commissioner mentioned that those who benefited from the program will train other officers at the police station and zone levels to promote better health among their peers. G.S. Malik emphasized that throughout the 12-week program, officers received extensive information on health and fitness. He personally guided them on what to do and how to do it.

He added that the program also mentally strengthened officers by educating them on what foods to avoid. The families of those who benefited from the program are also pleased with the results.

In a message to the public, the Police Commissioner urged, “Strengthen your mind. Dedicate at least one hour to your body and take long walks. Pay special attention to your diet.”
