New York, September 25 (Udaipur Kiran News): Aaron Judge reached another milestone in his storied career, hitting his 50th and 51st home runs of the season to lead the New York Yankees to an 8-1 rout of the Chicago White Sox on Wednesday night at Yankee Stadium.
The victory, combined with the Toronto Blue Jays’ loss to the Boston Red Sox earlier in the day, moved the Yankees into a tie with Toronto for first place in the AL East. The Blue Jays still hold the tiebreaker, with both teams having four games left in the regular season.
Judge Makes History
Judge broke open the game in the second inning with a three-run blast to right-center, his 50th of the season, becoming the first Yankee since Babe Ruth to record back-to-back 50-homer seasons. The shot also marked his fourth career 50-HR campaign, tying him with Ruth, Mark McGwire, and Sammy Sosa for the most all-time.
He wasn’t done. In the fifth inning, Judge went deep again — his 51st of the year — immediately following Trent Grisham’s 34th homer to put the game out of reach.
Fried Dominates in Final Start
On the mound, Max Fried capped off his first season in pinstripes with a stellar outing. The left-hander gave up just one run over seven innings, scattering four hits and two walks while striking out seven. He finished the regular season with 19 wins and a 2.86 ERA.
Offensive Support
The Yankees’ offense clicked after a shaky first inning. Ben Rice tripled in the third before Paul Goldschmidt delivered an RBI single. Goldschmidt later scored from first on a Jazz Chisholm Jr. double.
From there, the power show continued with Grisham and Judge going back-to-back. By the end of the night, the Bronx crowd had witnessed yet another statement performance from their captain.
Relief and Finish
Devin Williams worked a clean eighth inning, and Paul Blackburn closed out the ninth to seal the win.
Game MVP
Aaron Judge — His three-run homer turned the tide early, and his second blast sent Yankee Stadium into celebration mode.
What’s Next
The Yankees wrap up their three-game series with the White Sox on Thursday night at 7:05 p.m. Carlos Rodón (17-9, 3.04 ERA) will get the ball in the regular-season finale against Davis Martin (7-10, 4.03 ERA).
