AAP No Longer the Common Mans Party: Praveen Khandelwal

New Delhi, April 3: BJP MP Praveen Khandelwal has launched a scathing attack on the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and its leadership. He stated in the Rajya Sabha that the removal of Raghav Chadha from the position of deputy leader is a clear indication that AAP is no longer the ‘common man’s party’ but has devolved into a party centered around one individual.

Khandelwal accused the party of only retaining members who flatter Arvind Kejriwal. He noted that the core issues that led to the formation of AAP have completely vanished. In his view, Kejriwal has forgotten these fundamental issues in his pursuit of power.

He described Kejriwal as a person filled with arrogance and pride, asserting that only those who can tolerate this attitude remain in his circle. Khandelwal emphasized that Raghav Chadha is not the first leader to be ousted from the party; several others have faced similar fates before him.

Additionally, he expressed concern over the situation in West Bengal, citing recent comments from the Supreme Court that indicate the state’s conditions are far from satisfactory. He criticized Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s government, claiming that even officials sent for government work are not receiving adequate security.

Khandelwal remarked that the last five years in the state have been marked by misgovernance. He asserted that this is why the people of Bengal will hand a significant victory to the BJP in the upcoming elections.

He also commented on the Assam Assembly elections, stating that under Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s leadership, Assam is progressing towards development. Based on the party’s track record, he believes the BJP will secure a substantial majority in the state once again.
