AAP Accuses Govt of Dumping Bhalaswa Landfill Waste in Delhi Dehat Villages

New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has sharply criticised the government over the disposal of waste from the Bhalaswa landfill site in the open lands of Delhi Dehat. Saurabh Bhardwaj, AAP Delhi unit president, alleged that under the direction of Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, thousands of trucks carrying garbage from Bhalaswa are being dumped in the villages of Delhi Dehat.

Bhardwaj called this a deliberate attempt to harm the rural areas of Delhi and said the government’s policies are now causing health hazards for village residents. Sharing a video on social media, he claimed that mountains of plastic, polythene, glass, and other hazardous waste from Bhalaswa are being transported to Delhi Dehat in trucks.

He pointed out that Chief Minister Rekha Gupta had earlier promised to remove the garbage heaps, but instead of disposing of the waste, it is being shifted from the city to villages. This, Bhardwaj said, clearly indicates that the problem is not being solved but merely relocated.

The AAP leader alleged that over the past 15 years, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has created three major garbage mountains in the city, and now the entire Delhi-NCR region is being exposed to health risks. He further accused the current four-engine government of deliberately turning Delhi into the “cancer capital” by pushing decisions without opposition from top to bottom.

In the video, an AAP worker reported that waste from Bhalaswa is being dumped behind the Karala village with thousands of trucks involved in the operation. He warned that soon massive garbage heaps could be seen in Delhi Dehat as well. The plastic, polythene, glass, and other harmful substances present in the waste can cause serious health problems.

Bhardwaj issued a warning that this dumping will directly affect several villages including Mundka, Karala, Ranikheda, Rasoolpur, Bawana, Kanjhawala, Sultanpur, and Puth. He demanded that the Chief Minister respond to this issue and ensure protection of health and environment for the residents of Delhi Dehat.
