Mumbai, September 8 (Daily Kiran) : Music maestro A.R. Rahman paid heartfelt tribute to the legendary singer Asha Bhosle on her birthday, September 8. The event took place in Mumbai, where Rahman launched the song ‘Asha Forever’ in the presence of Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
Also attending were Ashish Shelar and Asha Bhosle’s granddaughter, Janai Bhosle. During the launch, Rahman expressed his gratitude to Chief Minister Fadnavis for inviting them to honor Asha Bhosle with this tribute. He remarked, “Asha Bhosle was a pride of Maharashtra and our country. Her significant role in bringing our music to the world is unparalleled. Celebrating her legacy is truly special.”
The song ‘Asha Forever’ was recorded with Bhosle during her lifetime and features students and musicians from the Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London. The lyrics were penned by Amitabh Bhattacharya, and the song was filmed in both London and Mumbai.
This tribute also extends the celebration envisioned during Asha Bhosle’s lifetime. Released by Rooh Records in India, ‘Asha Forever’ is now available on all major music streaming platforms, distributed by Warner Music India.
On the occasion of her 93rd birthday, numerous celebrities from the film and music industry took to social media to remember the iconic singer and celebrate her remarkable legacy. From Kumar Sanu to Sudesh Bhosle and Subhash Ghai, many industry figures paid their heartfelt tributes.
