Mumbai, September 28 (Daily Kiran) : A new Broadway-style musical titled “Mahabali” is set to premiere in Mumbai this Dussehra, featuring renowned singer Kailash Kher, Shaan, and actor Arya Babbar. The show offers a unique retelling of the Ramayana, viewed through the lens of Lord Hanuman.
Produced by experienced creators Randhir Ranjan Roy and Abhishek Narayan, “Mahabali” aims to elevate the Indian epic on a global stage. The soundtrack, enriched by the voices and music of Kher and Shaan, is designed to evoke deep devotion while maintaining the dynamic essence of a Broadway production. It incorporates ancient chants and powerful melodies.
The musical intends not just to recount the mythological tale but also to showcase the emotional and spiritual depth of Hanuman. Revered as one of the immortal beings, Hanuman is portrayed not only as a divine warrior with unmatched cosmic power but also as the ultimate symbol of humility, dedicating all his victories to Lord Rama.
The narrative emphasizes that true greatness lies in devotion, not arrogance, serving as an inspiration that guides generations.
Shaan shared insights about the show, stating, “The music of Mahabali is crafted to inspire profound devotion, featuring a magnificent rhythm reminiscent of a Broadway show. Each song reflects the emotions of Hanuman’s journey.”
Kailash Kher added, “With this soundtrack, we have blended ancient chants and powerful beats to create music that entertains while also invoking remembrance of the divine. It is a musical awakening made with complete reverence and devotion.”
Arya Babbar, who plays the role of Ravana, expressed excitement about the show’s thrilling narrative. He noted, “Portraying Ravana in a story centered on Hanuman transforms the entire experience. We will present it in a new and powerful way that live audiences have never felt before. The producers have assembled an incredible star cast, including Ankit Mohan as Hanuman, Sanand Verma as Vibhishana, and Pankaj Berry as Kaal Drishti, along with Mukul Nag and Aadesh Bhardwaj in significant roles.”
