Bengaluru, August 29: A young man has been arrested for allegedly breaking into a woman’s paying guest (PG) room in the Koramangala area and stealing her personal items inappropriately.
According to the police, the suspect has been identified as Giriraj D, who resided in the same Jolo Hazel PG as the complainant.
The woman reported that she had been living on the first floor of the PG for nearly three months. She informed the police that there was only one key to the room, which was kept by her roommate, Tripti Singh.
On August 24, around 7:21 AM, both women left the room unlocked as they stepped out. During this time, the accused allegedly entered the room and took personal items, including undergarments and five sanitary pads. He is accused of arranging these items in an obscene and inappropriate manner.
Later, the woman reviewed the CCTV footage from the PG premises. The footage reportedly showed the accused entering the room and engaging in inappropriate behavior. Based on this footage, police identified Giriraj D as the suspect, who also lived in the same PG.
The complainant further alleged that the accused attempted to re-enter her room around 6:50 AM the same day. Following this incident, she filed a complaint at the Koramangala police station.
Given the seriousness of the case, police have arrested the suspect and presented him in court. Charges have been filed against him under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), 2023, including 78(2), 79, 305(A), and 329(4).
Authorities stated that the investigation is ongoing, and all aspects of the case are being examined.
