Lucknow, July 10: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s recent statements regarding Hanumangarhi, the Ram Mandir, and the Samajwadi Party have drawn sharp criticism from SP MP Avadhesh Prasad. He accused the Chief Minister of attempting to divert attention from public issues while remaining silent on alleged irregularities related to donations for the Ram Mandir.
Avadhesh Prasad stated that during Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s visit to his constituency, where he has been elected seven times and served as a minister five times, the ongoing discussions across the country centered on the alleged scam involving donations to the Ram Mandir. Despite the significance of this issue for millions of devotees, the Chief Minister did not utter a word during his visit. Questions surrounding donations, including cash, gold, silver, and land, have become hot topics, yet the Chief Minister has chosen to remain silent, suggesting he may be under pressure.
The MP further alleged that the Chief Minister has also failed to address critical issues affecting farmers, such as fertilizer shortages, youth paper leaks, inflation, education, health, and infrastructure. With the paddy planting season underway, farmers are struggling to obtain fertilizers. Leaks in competitive exam papers are rampant, inflation is rising, and the soaring prices of domestic gas cylinders are troubling the public, yet the government remains mute on these pressing matters. He claimed that the BJP has run out of new issues, resorting instead to reviving old controversies. Avadhesh Prasad expressed concern over the upcoming 2027 assembly elections, predicting a historic defeat for the BJP as public support dwindles. He warned that as the elections approach, the government’s challenges will intensify.
Regarding the SIT investigation into the Ram Mandir donation issue, the SP MP expressed skepticism about its credibility. He raised questions about the formation of the SIT and its impartiality, advocating for an independent high-level investigation team under the Supreme Court‘s supervision. He also called for the dissolution of the Ram Mandir Trust until the investigation concludes, ensuring that no trust member can influence the process.
Avadhesh Prasad supported the statement made by SP National President Akhilesh Yadav, who claimed that “Sanatan is socialism.” He argued that the BJP lacks genuine political issues, and what Akhilesh Yadav articulates is reflected in his political conduct. The principles of socialism and their application align, while the BJP’s actions diverge from its claims.
In response to BSP leader Mayawati’s recent attacks on Congress and the Samajwadi Party, Avadhesh Prasad expressed disappointment that she is not speaking freely. He suggested that Mayawati is operating under external pressure, and her statements are not a true reflection of her conscience but rather influenced by others.
