Beijing, April 14: Xiaomi, renowned for its innovative branding, has ventured into an unexpected territory with its latest product launch at the 2026 Values Conference—ice cream.
Staying true to its tech heritage, Xiaomi’s cafeteria is introducing this delightful treat in three distinct tiers: Standard, Pro, and Max. The Standard edition offers the basic ice cream at a competitive price of 5.99 yuan (approximately $0.88).
For those looking for a little extra, the Pro version, priced at 6.99 yuan ($1.02), includes a single cookie. Meanwhile, the Max version caters to sweet enthusiasts, costing 8.99 yuan ($1.32) and featuring three cookies for an indulgent experience.
Chef Bing Jiabao, from Xiaomi’s cafeteria, crafted the ice cream recipe, drawing inspiration from tofu ice cream. The creation process involved experimenting with millet, a key ingredient associated with Xiaomi’s branding.
After three iterations, Chef Bing perfected the recipe. The process begins with steaming millet, which is then transformed into a paste blended with milk, topped off with millet grain for added texture. Xiaomi claims this recipe enhances the flavor profile of millet.
Images from the cafeteria revealed an ice cream machine branded by Mengniu, a prominent Chinese dairy company, indicating a collaborative effort. Since 2015, Xiaomi has managed its cafeteria in-house, employing chefs and staff who receive standard company benefits.
The launch of Xiaomi Ice Cream quickly gained traction on social media, with some users humorously lamenting the lack of an Ultra version or suggesting a Youth Edition. Notably, Xiaomi confirmed that the ice cream sold out rapidly following its debut.
