World Wildlife Day: A Celebration of Earths Incredible Biodiversity, Says PM Modi

New Delhi, March 3: On World Wildlife Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, and Jammu and Kashmir’s Lieutenant Governor, along with BJP leaders, extended their greetings to animal lovers.

In a message shared on the social media platform ‘X’, Prime Minister Modi stated, “World Wildlife Day is an opportunity to celebrate the incredible biodiversity that enriches our planet and maintains the balance of our ecosystems. This day also acknowledges the contributions of every individual dedicated to wildlife conservation. We reaffirm our commitment to wildlife protection, sustainable efforts, and safeguarding their natural habitats to ensure the growth of our wildlife.”

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla also conveyed his wishes on World Wildlife Day. He wrote on ‘X’, “Nature and human life complement each other. The conservation of biodiversity is not just an environmental necessity but the foundation for our existence. In recent years, India has made remarkable progress in forest and wildlife conservation. The number of Ramsar wetlands in the country has approached 100, and we remain committed to wildlife conservation.”

He further emphasized that protecting wildlife is not only a legal obligation but also a constitutional duty and moral responsibility. “Let us resolve to maintain balance with nature and ensure a prosperous environment for future generations,” he added.

Jammu and Kashmir’s Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha congratulated everyone on World Wildlife Day via ‘X’, stating, “This is a chance to celebrate our planet’s rich diversity and reaffirm our commitment to sustainable development and ecological security. Let us work together to save wildlife, protect ecosystems, and maintain harmony between human progress and nature.”

Union Minister Bhupender Yadav remarked that while celebrating World Wildlife Day and our planet’s magnificent biodiversity, India is also aware of the numerous threats to its rich ecosystems. “Therefore, we are committed not only to preserving what we have but also to saving the essential animals needed to restore the ecosystem. We hope our wildlife thrives and enriches the planet we call home,” he said.

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari also shared his wishes on ‘X’, stating, “Happy World Wildlife Day. Let us celebrate the tremendous biodiversity that sustains our planet and inspires humanity. From forests to oceans, every species plays a crucial role in maintaining nature’s balance. Protecting wildlife is not just a responsibility; it is our duty to future generations.”
