The programme was conducted for students and faculty members of the Faculty of Fine Arts, Pacific University, Udaipur. Its objective was to familiarise participants with the traditional materials and techniques involved in the creation of Mewar paintings.

As part of the programme, an interactive session was held with the Foundation’s conservation experts, who provided detailed information about various traditionally used pigments and their application techniques. This was followed by a live demonstration of viewing Mewar paintings under different light spectrums, offering insights into the scientific aspects of art conservation and study.

Participants were later taken on a curatorial walkthrough of the recently organised exhibition ‘Premarpan: Painting of an Eternal Bond Beyond Worldly Boundaries’, where the museum team explained the themes and artistic features of the exhibited works.

The programme concluded with a practical session in which participants created their own artworks by combining the knowledge gained during the workshop with their creativity. The programme was coordinated by Mrs Anuja Mukherjee and Ms Bhasha Shah.

Participants described the unique connection between art and science as highly engaging and appreciated the efforts of the City Palace Museum in organising such informative initiatives.
