Lucknow, March 8: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath extended warm wishes to mothers and residents of the state on International Women’s Day. He emphasized that women’s roles are crucial in building a strong society. The government is firmly committed to ensuring the safety, dignity, and self-reliance of half the population.
In a post on the social media platform X, CM Yogi stated, “Heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to all mothers and residents on International Women’s Day. The dignity, safety, and self-reliance of mothers form the foundation of a strong nation. Under the leadership of the double-engine government, women’s active participation in every sector is providing society with new direction and energy. Let us be resolute in empowering mothers.”
In his message for Women’s Day, CM Yogi highlighted, “The role of women is paramount in building a strong society. The government is committed to the safety, dignity, and self-reliance of half the population.” He recalled that before 2017, daughters were often fearful of going out at night. Crime against women was common, but now daughters are working even in night shifts. This change has been made possible through clear policies and intentions. Campaigns like ‘Mission Shakti’ and ‘Anti-Romeo’ have instilled fear in those committing crimes against daughters. Societies where daughters are safe and respected progress continuously.
He further stated, “The ‘Chief Minister Kanya Sumangala’ scheme supports daughters from birth through education. The ‘Chief Minister Collective Marriage Scheme’ has made it possible for daughters from poor families to marry with dignity. The ‘Poshan Abhiyan’ ensures better nutrition for pregnant and lactating women, positively impacting the health of future generations. The pension for destitute women has been increased from 1,000 to 1,500 rupees. These initiatives have significantly reduced dropout rates among female students and have led to an unprecedented decline in maternal and infant mortality rates. Daughters are receiving equal opportunities from education to employment.”
In his message, CM Yogi added, “The ‘Nari Shakti’ of UP is writing a new chapter of self-reliance. Opportunities for entrepreneurship are available everywhere, from startups to entrepreneur credit cards. Self-help groups have expanded across all development blocks in the state. Approximately 40,000 BC Sakhi women are confidently handling financial transactions worth thousands of crores. Lakhpati Didis, Drone Didis, Health Sakhi, and Surma Sakhi are not only empowering their families economically but also making significant contributions to the state’s economy.”
The Chief Minister also stressed that respect for women should be paramount for society as a whole. Remember, “Janani Janmabhoomischa Swargadapi Gariyasi,” meaning that mother and motherland are greater than heaven. To the esteemed daughters of the state, there is no need to fear or to dream small. The government’s various schemes are giving wings to your dreams. Do not just participate in the goal of a developed Uttar Pradesh, but take a leading role. Heartfelt wishes to all residents on International Women’s Day.
