Woman Assaulted Over Loan Repayment Demands in Maharashtra

Pune, March 14: A disturbing incident has emerged from the Kurkumbh area of Daund taluka in Maharashtra, where a woman was assaulted while demanding repayment of a loan. The local police have registered a case against three individuals involved in the incident.

The altercation took place on the street in front of Delhi Garage in Bhongale Wasti. According to the complaint, Sangeeta Pawar requested the return of money she had previously lent to the accused. Angered by this request, the accused, Shravan Suresh Gulik, allegedly attacked her with stones.

Police reports indicate that Sangeeta Maruti Pawar, 32, filed the complaint. She claims that during the assault, the accused’s mother, Uja Suresh Gulik, struck her with slippers, while her sister, Payal, pulled her hair and physically assaulted her. As a result of the attack, Sangeeta sustained minor injuries to her left ear, left arm, left knee, and right elbow.

Following the incident, the police registered a case against the three accused under Crime Register Number 156/2026, citing sections 118(1), 115(2), and 3(5) of the Indian Penal Code.

According to reports, Police Constable Syed has officially recorded the case, and Sub-Inspector Waghmare is conducting further investigations. Authorities have stated that the inquiry is ongoing, and legal action will be taken based on the findings.
