White House Praises Modi-Trump Talks on Iran Crisis

Washington, March 28: The White House has commended the conversation between U.S. President Donald Trump and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi regarding the Iran crisis. However, it remains unconfirmed whether Elon Musk was part of this discussion.

White House Press Secretary Carolyn Levitt stated, “President Trump and Prime Minister Modi have a good relationship, and this conversation was beneficial.”

Her comments came in response to reports suggesting Musk’s involvement in the talks. The White House neither confirmed nor denied the New York Times report on this matter.

According to the New York Times, two U.S. officials indicated that Musk’s presence in the conversation suggests a potential improvement in relations between the world’s richest individual and President Trump.

The report further noted, “Tensions had arisen last summer when Musk left his government position, where he was tasked with reducing staff numbers. It appears that relations have since improved.”

Reports indicate that the discussion focused on the deteriorating situation in the Middle East, particularly concerning the Strait of Hormuz, a crucial maritime route for global oil supply. Recent events related to Iran and concerns over maritime disruptions have heightened tensions in the region.

Prime Minister Modi emphasized on social media the necessity for the Strait to remain open, secure, and operational for the entire world. He stated, “We agreed to stay in touch to maintain peace and stability on this issue.”

The report also highlighted that Musk’s involvement in the conversation is unusual for a private businessman. It remains unclear why he was included or whether he participated in the discussion.

This dialogue comes at a time when fears of a closure of the Strait of Hormuz are rising. A significant portion of the world’s oil passes through this route. Any disruption could directly impact the global economy, especially for oil-importing nations.
