West Bengal Chief Minister Joins Har Ghar Tiranga Rally, Announces Official Celebration of Raksha Bandhan

Kolkata, August 11: West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari participated in the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga‘ rally held in Kolkata on August 10. Carrying the national flag, he marched approximately 2.5 kilometers. State ministers, legislators, and thousands of citizens also joined the rally, proudly displaying the tricolor.

After the rally, the Chief Minister remarked that the entire Kolkata was adorned in the colors of the national flag. This is the first time the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga‘ initiative is being celebrated at the state level. The state government is distributing 7 million national flags to encourage widespread participation in this campaign.

The rally commenced from Gaur Pal Sarani in central Kolkata and concluded at the northern gate of Victoria Memorial. At the forefront of the rally, the Chief Minister led the way with the flag, accompanied by state ministers Arjun Singh, Jagannath Chatterjee, and Deepak Barman, along with legislators Rudranil Ghosh, Kaustav Bagchi, and several other BJP leaders. Banners proclaiming “Har Ghar Tiranga” were also displayed throughout the event.

The Chief Minister urged the citizens to hoist the national flag at their homes to ensure the success of this initiative. He noted that the central government’s program runs from August 9 to August 17, with the state actively participating. He also invited people to join the event on August 15 at Red Road.

On this occasion, Suvendu Adhikari announced the official celebration of Raksha Bandhan at the state level. He emphasized that this event aims to strengthen brotherhood and unity within society, rather than for religious reasons.

The Chief Minister stated that this initiative would foster stronger relationships among people and help position West Bengal among the top states in the country. He expressed gratitude to the Information and Culture Department and the Kolkata Municipal Corporation for their efforts in organizing the rally successfully. He affirmed that widespread participation would transform the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign into a people’s movement.
