Woman Arrested for Murdering Rival Over Husbands Affair
A woman in Noida has been arrested for killing her husbands alleged lover out of jealousy. The incident raises questions about domestic violence.
Noida, October 14 (Daily Kiran) : Police in Noida have arrested a woman suspected of murdering her husband’s alleged lover in a case that has shocked the local community. The suspect, identified as Sheela Kumari, was taken into custody on October 14, following a thorough investigation by the Gautam Buddh Nagar police.
The incident occurred in Yakubpur village, where the body of the victim, Manisha, was discovered on October 5. Authorities received the report through the PRV control room and promptly dispatched a team to the scene to initiate legal proceedings. Upon investigation, the deceased was identified as a resident of Kasganj.
According to police reports, the investigation included a review of the post-mortem findings and the collection of various pieces of evidence. This led to the identification of Sheela as the primary suspect. Utilizing both manual intelligence and electronic surveillance, officers successfully located her in Sector 88, Noida.
During questioning, Sheela revealed that she married Nitin, the husband in question, on April 20, 2025. She claimed that Nitin had an affair with Manisha, which sparked feelings of jealousy in her. Sheela stated that she began living in the same room as Manisha at her husband’s insistence, which intensified her envy.
On October 4, 2026, after Nitin left for the RTO office in Kasganj, Sheela reportedly conceived a plan to eliminate Manisha. The following day, she allegedly strangled Manisha and fled the scene.
Sheela Kumari, approximately 24 years old, originally hails from Nagla Sahjan in Kasganj. She was residing in Yakubpur at the time of her arrest. The police are continuing with legal proceedings in this case.
