Bhopal, 29 August (Kiran News). The weather has changed once again in Madhya Pradesh, bringing a fresh spell of heavy rainfall. Several districts in the state are expected to receive heavy rain, as predicted by the Meteorological Department. On Friday, an alert for heavy rainfall has been issued for 13 districts in Indore, Narmadapuram, and Jabalpur divisions. There is also a possibility of thunderstorms in these areas. Light rain is expected in Bhopal, Vidisha, Guna, Ashoknagar, and Shivpuri. This spell of heavy rainfall is likely to continue for the next three days across the state.

According to the Meteorological Department, due to the monsoon trough and a low-pressure area, several districts including Bhopal and Indore experienced rainfall on Thursday. Similar weather conditions are expected to persist for the next 24 hours. The districts under heavy rainfall warning are Dhar, Alirajpur, Barwani, Khargone, Burhanpur, Khandwa, Harda, Betul, Chhindwara, Pandhurna, Seoni, Mandla, and Balaghat. These areas could receive between 2.5 to 4.5 inches of rain.
On Thursday, heavy rain caused roads in Bhopal, Indore, and Raisen to resemble ponds, with waterlogging of up to one to two feet in several areas of Bhopal. Raisen recorded nearly 2 inches of rain, while Chhindwara received 1.25 inches. Rain was also recorded in Guna, Indore, Shajapur, Dhar, Ujjain, Damoh, Khajuraho, Mandla, and Umaria, among other districts.
This season, Guna has received the highest rainfall, averaging 53.8 inches. Mandla has recorded 53.3 inches, Ashoknagar 50.9 inches, Shivpuri 50.1 inches, and Sheopur 50.2 inches of rainfall. The five districts with the least rainfall are all in the Indore division, with Indore itself at the lowest average of 17.8 inches. Burhanpur has received 20.1 inches, Khargone 19.5 inches, Khandwa 20.9 inches, and Barwani 20.5 inches. The state has so far recorded an average rainfall of 36.2 inches.
