Weather Shift Expected in NCR on March 19, Light Rain and Strong Winds to Improve Air Quality

Noida, March 17: According to the latest forecast from the India Meteorological Department, a change in weather is anticipated in the National Capital Region (NCR) starting March 19. Light rain, cloud cover, and strong winds are expected, providing significant relief from pollution for residents.

The seven-day weather forecast indicates that on March 17, the minimum temperature will be around 17 degrees Celsius, with a maximum of 28 degrees Celsius. On March 18, temperatures are expected to range from 18 to 29 degrees Celsius. From March 19 to 20, the weather will likely be partially cloudy with light rain or thunderstorms, and temperatures will remain between 17 and 28 degrees Celsius.

On March 21, light rain is expected along with general cloud cover, while temperatures may rise to 30 degrees Celsius on March 22, leading to clearer weather conditions. The combination of strong winds and changing weather patterns has already resulted in an improvement in the air quality index (AQI). Key stations in Noida recorded AQI levels of 162 in Sector 125, 126 in Sector 62, 137 in Sector 1, and 147 in Sector 116.

In Ghaziabad, AQI readings were 138 in Indirapuram, 180 in Loni, 119 in Sanjay Nagar, and 149 in Vasundhara. Major locations in Delhi reported AQI levels of 123 in Alipur, 136 in Ashok Vihar, 124 in Aya Nagar, 155 in Bawana, 112 at Burari Crossing, 121 in the Cantonment area, 130 in Chandni Chowk, 126 at the Commonwealth Sports Complex, 111 on Mathura Road, and 126 at the Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range.

These figures indicate that most areas have AQI levels between 100 and 200 (moderate/yellow zone), reflecting an improvement compared to previous days. The recent clear weather and strong winds have contributed to a decrease in pollution levels, allowing residents of NCR to breathe easier.

Experts believe that the rain and winds expected from March 19 will further enhance air quality. However, health specialists continue to advise sensitive groups, including children, the elderly, and asthma patients, to take precautions. The upcoming weather changes are expected to bring slight temperature drops and ongoing improvements in pollution levels.
