Weather Alert: Thunderstorms and Rain Expected in NCR on March 26

Noida, March 24: The weather in Noida, Ghaziabad, and the Delhi-NCR region is set to change once again. The Meteorological Department has issued a warning for thunderstorms and rain on March 26. Similar weather conditions are also expected on March 29. Currently, fluctuations in temperature and humidity are being observed, along with partial changes in the Air Quality Index (AQI).

According to the weather forecast, March 24 will see partly cloudy skies, with a maximum temperature of 31 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 16 degrees Celsius. The weather on March 25 is expected to remain similar, with temperatures ranging from 32 to 17 degrees and humidity between 70 to 30 percent. However, March 26 will bring a shift in weather patterns. Thunderstorms with rain are anticipated, with maximum temperatures reaching 33 degrees and a minimum of 18 degrees Celsius.

The Meteorological Department has not issued any warnings for these three days. On the other hand, regarding air quality, many areas in Delhi are classified as having ‘poor’ to ‘very poor’ air conditions. According to the Delhi Pollution Control Committee and the Indian Meteorological Department, Anand Vihar recorded an AQI of 247, the highest in the region. Other areas include Chandni Chowk at 226, Bawana at 200, Alipur at 180, Commonwealth Sports Complex at 171, Ashok Vihar at 163, Burari Crossing at 162, Cantonment Area at 151, CRRI Mathura Road at 137, and Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range at 128 AQI.

In Noida, all four monitoring stations are active. Sector 125 recorded an AQI of 240, Sector 116 at 207, Sector 1 at 200, and Sector 62 at 139. In Ghaziabad, Loni was the most polluted area with an AQI of 246, followed by Vasundhara at 235, Indirapuram at 198, and Sanjay Nagar at 161. Weather experts suggest that the rain and strong winds expected on March 26 may help reduce pollution particles, potentially improving the AQI.
