Adarsh Gourav Discusses the Evolution of Storytelling on OTT Platforms

Mumbai, March 30: The film and web content landscape is evolving rapidly. Once dominated by the big screen, storytelling now finds a strong foothold on digital platforms. Actor Adarsh Gourav shared his insights on this transformation in a recent interview.

His upcoming film, “Tu Ya Main,” which premiered in theaters, is set to stream soon on Netflix. During this time, he openly discussed the unique aspects and challenges of OTT platforms.

Speaking about the digital shift, Gourav stated, “Digital platforms have completely changed the way stories are told. Movies and shows are no longer limited to grand sets and hefty budgets; character depth and emotions are equally prioritized. OTT allows stories to breathe freely, as there is no pressure to adhere to a fixed formula or large-scale expectations.”

He added, “However, the digital realm comes with its own challenges. Today, there is an overwhelming amount of content on OTT, making it difficult to stand out. Every film and show must offer something new and different to capture viewers’ attention. This creates a unique pressure on artists and creators to constantly think about how their work will resonate with audiences.”

Gourav expressed his excitement about being part of stories that are more personal and character-driven. “As an actor, I prefer stories that emphasize authenticity over spectacle, where there is an opportunity to understand the emotions within the characters.”

Regarding “Tu Ya Main,” he described it as a survival thriller directed by Bejoy Nambiar. The film revolves around two social media influencers who embark on an adventurous trip, only to face life-and-death situations.

The film was released in theaters on February 13 and will be available for streaming on Netflix starting April 10.
