Bhopal, March 30: Significant weather changes are anticipated in Madhya Pradesh due to moisture coming from the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea, combined with a western disturbance. The meteorological department has issued warnings for strong winds, rain, and hailstorms.
Currently, the weather in the state is hot, with temperatures soaring to 40 degrees Celsius. The daytime heat is palpable. The weather department indicates that major changes are on the horizon, which could provide relief from the heat. However, the potential for storms and hail could damage ripe crops in the fields.
According to the weather department, the western disturbance, along with moisture from the Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal, is expected to impact areas like Bhind and Datia in the Gwalior-Chambal division, where hail may fall. Additionally, clouds and rain are likely in Bhopal, Jabalpur, and several other regions.
The forecast suggests that over the next three to four days, noticeable weather changes will occur across most parts of the state, including Indore, Ujjain, Gwalior, Jabalpur, and Rewa divisions. This could lead to a decrease in temperatures and less daytime heat.
The prospect of changing weather has raised concerns among farmers. Many crops, such as wheat, are ready for harvest and are currently exposed in the fields. If rain, hail, or strong winds occur, farmers could face significant losses. In the past 24 hours, Mandla recorded a temperature of 39 degrees Celsius, while much of the state saw temperatures between 37 and 38 degrees Celsius.
