Mumbai, June 23: AIMIM leader Waris Pathan has sharply criticized the six rebel MPs from Uddhav Thackeray’s faction who joined the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena in Maharashtra. He stated that the public has now recognized who the real traitors are.
In a conversation in Mumbai, Pathan questioned the leaders of so-called secular parties. He pointed out how they had been going door-to-door in Maharashtra, intimidating and persuading Muslims to vote for the ‘Mashal’ symbol. “They were disparaging us while urging people to vote for the ‘Mashal’. Where are they now? The people voted for the ‘Mashal’ symbol, and many Muslims followed their lead. Now, these leaders have defected to another party,” he remarked.
Pathan emphasized that these MPs have effectively handed everything over to another party. He warned that once they return to their constituencies, the public will have questions for them. “The faces of the rebel MPs have been unmasked. The Muslims of Maharashtra have seen who the real traitors are,” he declared.
On the tragic coaching center fire incident in Lucknow, which claimed around 15 lives, Pathan expressed his condolences. He stated, “What happened in the fire is very sad. We stand with the grieving families. The videos from the scene are heartbreaking, showing students trying to escape with their bags and using wires. Unfortunately, many lost their lives. We demand that an FIR be filed against those responsible for this negligence that led to the deaths of these innocent children.”
Meanwhile, Shiv Sena spokesperson Kiran Pawaskar commented on the rebel MPs joining the Shinde faction. He confirmed that the six MPs left the UBT faction to join the Shinde-led Shiv Sena. Pawaskar noted that during this transition, their leader Eknath Shinde and other ministers were present. He mentioned that Shinde instructed his son to take care of those who joined their party, emphasizing that Balasaheb Thackeray always valued ideology and commitment. The spokesperson claimed that the rebel MPs left due to Uddhav Thackeray and his faction’s actions.
