Waris Pathan Criticizes Akhilesh Yadav Over Political Maneuvering with Muslim Voters
Waris Pathan accuses Akhilesh Yadav of exploiting Muslim votes ahead of Uttar Pradesh elections while calling for action on recent violence.

Mumbai, October 22 (Daily Kiran) : Waris Pathan, a leader of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), has expressed strong criticism of Akhilesh Yadav regarding his recent interactions with Azam Khan, particularly in the context of the upcoming elections in Uttar Pradesh. Speaking in Mumbai, Pathan accused Yadav of engaging in political tactics aimed at Muslim voters.
Pathan highlighted the significant turnout at AIMIM rallies, asserting that party president Asaduddin Owaisi enjoys considerable public support. He confidently predicted that AIMIM would perform well in the elections. Addressing Yadav’s meeting with Azam Khan, who is currently imprisoned, Pathan questioned why it took Yadav so long to reach out to Khan. He suggested that Yadav’s motivations were driven by a desire to secure Muslim votes, urging that the community should not be underestimated.
The AIMIM leader emphasized his party’s commitment to empowering the Muslim community in Uttar Pradesh and ensuring their political representation. He noted that despite the presence of numerous Samajwadi Party (SP) legislators and MPs, issues affecting Muslims have not received adequate attention.
In response to allegations made by Manoj Jarange, Pathan called for a thorough investigation, stressing the need for transparency and accountability. He insisted that any findings from the investigation should be made public, allowing for a fair assessment of the claims.
Regarding comments made by Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut about Amit Shah, Pathan suggested that Raut should clarify his intentions behind those remarks, as he claimed to have limited knowledge of the situation.
On the recent shooting incident involving actor Tiger Shroff, Pathan urged the Mumbai police to take decisive action. He pointed out that the police have the capability to prevent such incidents if they act firmly. Reflecting on past instances of violence in the 1980s and 1990s, he noted that law enforcement had previously managed to curb criminal activities through effective measures.
Pathan expressed concern about the resurgence of daylight shootings in Mumbai, which he believes create a climate of fear. He also referenced the shooting outside Salman Khan’s residence and the murder of Baba Siddique, questioning the delay in police action against known suspects. He insisted that if even film stars feel unsafe, it raises serious concerns about the safety of ordinary citizens. Pathan called on the Maharashtra government and Mumbai police to take stringent measures against such incidents and hold responsible parties accountable.
