Recently, he confirmed details regarding the phone’s main and periscope telephoto cameras. In his latest update, Boxiao unveiled new information about the ultra-wide camera and hinted at an intriguing new sensor hidden within the camera module.
Details of the Vivo X300 Ultra’s Ultra-Wide Camera
The Vivo X300 Ultra will boast a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera utilizing the Sony LYTIA-818 sensor. This lens is expected to have a 14mm focal length, making it ideal for capturing landscapes and expansive scenes. With a sensor size of 1/1.28 inches, Vivo claims this will be one of the largest sensors used in an ultra-wide camera on a smartphone.
The larger sensor is anticipated to enhance video recording capabilities. Boxiao noted that ultra-wide cameras play a crucial role in video capture by providing stable footage. The stabilization on the X300 Ultra is expected to improve from the previous generation’s CIPA 5.0 rating to CIPA 6.0. Additionally, the larger sensor will gather more light, potentially enhancing low-light video quality.
An intriguing detail was shared about another camera sensor concealed under a sunglasses emoji. While specifics were not disclosed, Boxiao suggested that this powerful new sensor, along with the device’s upgraded color processing, will be elaborated on in a future update. This could refer to the rumored 5-megapixel multispectral lens.
Previous announcements indicated that the Vivo X300 Ultra will introduce Sony’s LYTIA-901 sensor globally as part of its main camera system. This setup pairs the sensor with a 200-megapixel camera featuring a 1/1.12-inch sensor size and a 35mm focal length, designed to provide a more natural perspective for street photography.
The phone is also expected to feature a fifth-generation ZEISS 200-megapixel periscope telephoto camera based on Samsung’s HP0 sensor. This camera is said to support up to 3° optical image stabilization, which Vivo claims can deliver gimbal-like stability for zoom shots. Furthermore, the device is anticipated to include a 50-megapixel front camera with autofocus capabilities.
For content creators, the X300 Ultra will offer an optional 400mm teleconverter kit that can achieve up to 17x optical zoom. The brand is also expected to launch another teleconverter kit for everyday use.
