
New Delhi, April 22: A devastating road accident occurred in the Valsad district of Gujarat, resulting in the tragic deaths of six individuals. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan have expressed their sorrow over this incident.
Prime Minister Modi took to social media platform X to convey his condolences, stating that the loss of life and property in the Valsad accident is extremely tragic. He extended his sympathies to the affected families and prayed for the swift recovery of the injured.
Vice President Radhakrishnan also expressed his deep sadness on X, stating he is profoundly affected by the unfortunate road accident in Valsad. He conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the victims’ families and wished for the quick recovery of those injured.
The incident reportedly took place in the Kaprada taluka of Valsad, where a pickup van overturned while returning from a wedding. Six people lost their lives in the accident. According to reports, a family from Girnara village had traveled to Kolvera village to attend wedding ceremonies. After completing the rituals, they were returning home in the pickup, which was carrying 28 people at the time of the accident.
The tragedy struck when the pickup was passing near Veer Kshetra, where the brakes failed while navigating a hill, causing the driver to lose control and the vehicle to overturn. Upon receiving news of the accident, local residents rushed to the scene and informed the police control room. Rescue personnel arrived promptly and transported the injured to the hospital.
