Dehradun, March 24: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami visited a restaurant in the Garhi Cantt area on Wednesday to assess the cooking gas supply situation. This information was shared by the Chief Minister’s office via the social media platform X.
During his visit, CM Dhami urged all hotel and restaurant operators to remain calm, stating that there is currently no significant gas crisis. However, he emphasized the need for unity among citizens to tackle any challenges that may arise in the future, similar to the solidarity shown during the COVID-19 pandemic.
While in the restaurant, the owner informed the Chief Minister that there has been a slight decrease in supply, but gas is still being delivered consistently. The owner also mentioned that they are reducing gas consumption by utilizing the tandoor more frequently.
CM Dhami praised this initiative and instructed the administration to make necessary arrangements for alternative energy sources. He reassured that gas supply is ongoing and that the central government, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, is making every effort to maintain it.
He appealed to all hotel and restaurant operators, as well as the general public, to be prepared to face any challenges with unity, just as the nation did during the pandemic.
Furthermore, the Chief Minister suggested exploring alternatives to gas, such as induction cookers, and stated that the government is ready to assist people in every possible way.
In addition to his inspection, CM Dhami also oversaw honey extraction work at the Chief Minister’s residence. He directed officials from the horticulture department to develop a 3-B garden in the vicinity of the residence. He highlighted the immense potential for beekeeping in Uttarakhand, given the abundance of flower species in the state that contribute to high-quality organic honey production. He encouraged residents to engage in the production of medicinal honey in the hilly regions.
