New Delhi, March 24: The ongoing conflict in the Middle East is impacting Indian politics. Prime Minister Modi addressed the nation in Parliament, outlining the preparations to handle the current situation. In contrast, opposition leader Rahul Gandhi criticized the government’s foreign policy during this critical time.
Union Minister Chirag Paswan responded, urging the opposition to demonstrate unity, stating that this is not the time for political maneuvering. He expressed his confidence that under PM Modi’s leadership, India will not face any difficulties.
During a media interaction in New Delhi, Paswan emphasized that PM Modi has clearly stated the need for unity in light of the global situation. He remarked that with the government leading the country, it is not the right moment for political games. PM Modi has consistently advocated for self-reliance in all matters. If the opposition continues to level accusations, it undermines democracy, he added. “We are prepared for every situation,” he affirmed.
Paswan further stated that the current government will not allow any challenges to arise. PM Modi’s guiding principle has been to ensure self-sufficiency across all sectors. He elaborated on the government’s strategies in the Rajya Sabha, addressing the potential challenges ahead. If Rahul Gandhi has complaints, it is misplaced, he asserted.
Union Minister B.L. Verma noted that PM Modi spoke in the Rajya Sabha about the current situation resulting from the war. He discussed the impact on essential commodities like diesel, petrol, cooking gas, and fertilizers. Verma highlighted how this conflict has affected the global supply chain and prices, and the measures the government is taking to assist citizens. He pointed out that India has triumphed even in situations like COVID-19.
Verma also criticized Rahul Gandhi for not showing seriousness, suggesting he should respect PM Modi. He emphasized that the world is watching the situation in the Middle East and India’s response.
BJP MP Jagdambika Pal remarked that the opposition leader was absent during crucial discussions, questioning the basis for his statements. While the Prime Minister was addressing the nation, Gandhi was reportedly in Haryana. Despite being the representative of the entire opposition, he was not present in the house. The crisis in the Middle East persists, but the Prime Minister has assured the nation of the steps being taken to address it.
Shiv Sena MP Milind Deora expressed that his party stands firmly with the central government from Maharashtra to Delhi. He thanked PM Modi for reassuring the public that there is no need to panic about the Middle East situation.
