Lucknow, April 20: Uttar Pradesh has gained international recognition as one of the world’s most illuminated regions, according to NASA’s recently released World Night Map. This achievement marks a historic milestone for the state’s energy sector and validates the Yogi government’s commitment to providing electricity to all households.
NASA’s new global map, based on satellite imagery, illustrates changes in nighttime lighting from 2014 to 2022. Scientists analyzed 1.6 million satellite images collected over nine years to create this visual representation. The results indicate a significant increase in nighttime illumination in northern India, particularly in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, driven by urban development.
Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the state has made substantial structural changes in the energy sector over recent years, which are now being recognized on an international platform.
