Sanjay Guptas Wife Pleads for Privacy Amid Viral Controversy Following His Death

Anuradha Gupta urges media to respect her childrens privacy after a viral video sparked criticism following filmmaker Sanjay Guptas death.

Mumbai, November 2 (Daily Kiran) : The passing of filmmaker Sanjay Gupta has left his family grappling with immense grief. In the wake of his death, a video from his funeral has gone viral on social media, drawing criticism toward his children. Anuradha Lekhi Gupta, Sanjay’s wife, has made an emotional appeal to the media regarding this matter.

Anuradha requested that the privacy of their children be respected as they navigate the pain of losing their father. The video in question reportedly shows their daughter making an obscene gesture at paparazzi outside the crematorium, while their son appears to mimic the same behavior. This footage has led to widespread backlash, with many questioning why the children were seen smiling and laughing as they left in a car after the ceremony.

In the midst of this controversy, filmmaker Milap Zaveri shared Anuradha’s statement on social media. In her message, Anuradha expressed gratitude to those who have supported the family during this challenging time. She stated, “A significant part of our lives has been lost forever, and nothing can fill that void.”

Anuradha further detailed the circumstances surrounding Sanjay’s death, revealing that he suffered severe head injuries after accidentally falling at their Versova home. “Sanjay loved his family and children dearly. Our kids are teenagers and are struggling to comprehend and cope with this sudden loss,” she explained.

In her appeal to the media, Anuradha emphasized that her children have always kept a distance from the spotlight. She noted that the intrusion into their personal lives during such a difficult time has caused them significant distress. “Some reactions from the children may stem from their grief. I regret that these moments are being scrutinized,” she added.

Anuradha called for kindness towards her children, urging the public to forgive them and to remove any content that might have a lasting impact on their well-being. “I ask everyone to grant them the privacy, sensitivity, and time they need to mourn their father’s passing,” she concluded.

Sanjay Gupta passed away on October 30 at the age of 57. Preliminary police investigations suggest that he lost his balance at home and fell, resulting in fatal injuries. Family members were unaware of the incident until the following morning, when Sanjay was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The Versova police have registered a report of accidental death and are currently investigating the case.
