Uttar Pradesh B.Ed Exam Concludes with 90% Attendance, Showcasing High-Tech Integrity

Lucknow, June 1: Uttar Pradesh has once again set a benchmark for a technology-driven and cheat-free examination system. The Joint B.Ed Entrance Exam 2026 was conducted peacefully and transparently across 1,011 centers in 72 districts on Sunday. Approximately 90% of candidates participated in the exam, monitored by artificial intelligence, facial recognition, biometric verification, 22,000 CCTV cameras, and a live command and control system.

Higher Education Minister Yogendra Upadhyay hailed this as a successful model of the Yogi government’s technology-driven and accountable examination system. The government utilized extensive technology, including AI, facial recognition, biometric verification, and a live command control system, to ensure the exam was entirely transparent and free of cheating.

Minister Upadhyay expressed satisfaction with the successful conduct of the exam, stating that under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s leadership, Uttar Pradesh has emerged as a model for transparent and technology-driven examination systems in the country.

He noted that the Joint B.Ed Entrance Exam 2026 marks another significant achievement in this direction. A total of 444,958 candidates registered for the exam, including 272,659 women, 172,297 men, and two transgender candidates. The first shift included general knowledge and language subjects, while the second shift focused on interest tests and subject qualifications. Attendance was nearly 90% in both shifts, with Kasganj and Pilibhit recording the highest attendance at 95%, while Ghaziabad and Gautam Buddha Nagar had 84% participation.

To monitor the exam, an advanced Integrated Command and Control Center (ICCC) was established at Bundelkhand University in Jhansi, enabling live monitoring of all exam centers in the state. Approximately 22,000 CCTV cameras and 5,651 biometric machines were installed for this purpose. AI-based facial recognition technology, fingerprint-based biometric verification, and a real-time attendance system were employed to ensure candidate identification.

The modern AI system continuously monitored strong rooms, entry and exit points, and examination rooms at the centers. The control room received immediate alerts for any suspicious activities or unauthorized individuals, allowing for prompt verification with the respective center. Information regarding the opening of confidential material boxes was also relayed directly to the control room.

According to the minister, to further enhance the integrity and transparency of the exam, university representatives were provided with GPS-based body-worn cameras for the first time this year. These cameras allowed for real-time monitoring of representatives’ locations, inspection activities, and tasks related to confidential materials from the control room. Additionally, all exam centers were connected through a Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP) communication system, ensuring secure and rapid communication between the organizing university and the exam centers. Technical and administrative alerts received during the exam were also resolved in real-time.

Yogendra Upadhyay emphasized that the Yogi government will not tolerate any compromise regarding the future of the youth. In recent years, the state has established a new identity in transparency, technological innovation, and accountability in recruitment and entrance examinations. The successful conduct of the Joint B.Ed Entrance Exam 2026 is proof that Uttar Pradesh’s examination system is now entirely technology-based, transparent, and candidate-friendly.
