UDF Candidate Accuses Left Government of Bias and Corruption in Kerala Elections

Kottayam, March 29: Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan, the United Democratic Front (UDF) candidate, has accused the CPI-M-led Left government of bias and corruption ahead of the assembly elections in Kerala, scheduled for April 9.

Speaking to reporters, Radhakrishnan claimed that the Left government has institutionalized corruption. “We need a clean government,” he stated, adding that the current administration focuses on advancing only the party workers close to those in power.

He highlighted migration as a significant issue, noting that while Kerala is sensitive about education, there are few job opportunities for graduates. “These jobs are reserved for party workers, and appointments are being made secretly, making it very difficult for the general public to secure good employment,” he said.

Radhakrishnan expressed that the public does not see a fair government in place. “People want a government that is impartial,” he emphasized.

He also accused the government of taking sides in criminal cases, stating, “We have been troubled for the past ten years. The Left government is either overly active or completely inactive. Whenever a criminal case arises, they take one side and attempt to eliminate the other. This is common here.”

Moreover, he criticized the government’s development initiatives as mere show, stating they do not benefit the public. “When floods hit Kerala, the government failed to provide adequate relief. In Wayanad, landslides occurred, and the government promised to build homes for all affected, but unfortunately, that construction remains incomplete. People are fed up with this situation.”

Radhakrishnan expressed confidence in female voters, stating, “Women are supporting the UDF because we are peace-loving. They voted for us in the local body elections.”
