
Abu Dhabi, May 10: The Ministry of Defense of the United Arab Emirates announced on Sunday that it successfully neutralized two unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) launched from Iran. This information was shared via a statement on social media platforms. The ministry also provided a report on missiles, drones, and casualties directed at the UAE during the ongoing conflict with Iran.
According to the ministry, on May 10, 2026, the UAE’s air defense systems intercepted and destroyed the two UAVs. Since the onset of Iranian attacks, the UAE’s air defense systems have successfully intercepted a total of 551 ballistic missiles, 29 cruise missiles, and 2,265 UAVs.
In the past few hours, there have been no reports of casualties among the military or civilians. However, since the beginning of the conflict, two soldiers have been reported killed, along with a Moroccan national who was working under contract with the armed forces.
A total of 10 civilian deaths have been confirmed, including individuals from Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Palestine, India, and Egypt. The ministry reported that since the onset of the attacks, 230 people have been injured, comprising nationals from various countries, including the UAE, Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia, the Philippines, Pakistan, Iran, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Azerbaijan, Yemen, Uganda, Eritrea, Lebanon, Afghanistan, Bahrain, Comoros, Turkey, Iraq, Nepal, Nigeria, Oman, Jordan, Palestine, Ghana, Indonesia, Sweden, Tunisia, Morocco, and Russia.
The Ministry of Defense asserted that it is fully prepared to address any threats and is committed to responding decisively to any attempts to undermine the country’s security, sovereignty, and stability.
In addition to the UAE, Kuwait also reported dealing with a drone on the same day. The Kuwaiti Ministry of Defense stated that several drones were spotted in its airspace and were dealt with cautiously. The ministry did not disclose the origin of the enemy drones.
Brigadier General Saud Abdulaziz Al-Otaibi, the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Defense, stated on the social platform X that the military observed several enemy drones in Kuwaiti airspace on Sunday morning and addressed them according to established protocols. The military remains dedicated to ensuring the safety of the nation, its citizens, and residents.
