U.S. Central Command Claims Successful Interception of Iranian Attacks

New Delhi, June 3: The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) has reported the successful thwarting of Iranian attacks that occurred last night. According to CENTCOM, there were no confirmed successful strikes on the U.S. Fifth Fleet headquarters in Bahrain or other military installations in the region. All Iranian assaults were unsuccessful.

CENTCOM posted on its official social media platform, X, stating, “Another attempt by Iranian drones to attack U.S. forces in Kuwait was thwarted last night. The U.S. Central Command’s air defense system intercepted multiple drones, ensuring that no American personnel or assets were harmed.”

The command further stated, “Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claims to have targeted the U.S. Fifth Fleet headquarters in Bahrain and a U.S. airbase in the region with missiles and drones. This assertion is false. All Iranian attacks against U.S. forces have failed. The U.S. military remains vigilant and fully prepared to respond to any unprovoked Iranian aggression.”

The IRGC had asserted that it targeted the headquarters of the U.S. Navy’s Fifth Fleet during missile and drone operations, conducted by its aerospace force.

According to Sepah News, the IRGC stated that this action was a response to U.S. military activities.

The IRGC claimed that late Tuesday night, a U.S. aircraft attacked an Iranian oil tanker near the Strait of Hormuz, damaging its engine room. In retaliation, the IRGC stated that its navy launched missiles at a vessel named MSC Panaya, which it identified as linked to U.S. and Israeli interests.

The statement further noted that following this, the U.S. military targeted an IRGC communication tower located on southern Qeshm Island. In response, Iran conducted missile and drone strikes on a U.S. air and helicopter base in a regional country, as well as the U.S. Fifth Fleet headquarters.
