Two Indian Nationals Remain in ICU Following Riyadh Airport Attack
Two Indian citizens injured in the Riyadh airport attack are still in ICU, as the Indian Embassy issues travel advisories for citizens in Saudi Arabia.

Riyadh, October 16 (Daily Kiran) : Two Indian nationals injured in the October 10 attack at Riyadh Airport are currently in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), according to the Indian Embassy in Saudi Arabia. On Friday, the embassy reported that another Indian citizen is in a High Dependency Unit (HDU), while three others are receiving treatment in a general ward.
The embassy’s recent advisory noted that Riyadh’s international airport remains closed for flights. However, airports in Dammam, Jeddah, and Medina are operational, though some disruptions are occurring there as well.
The advisory urged Indian citizens to follow local authorities’ instructions. In the event of airstrikes, they should stay indoors and avoid recording, publishing, or sharing any information, photos, or videos related to ongoing events.
Indian airlines have extended the suspension of flights to and from Saudi Arabia. Air India and Air India Express have halted all routes until October 20, while IndiGo has suspended flights until October 24. Akasa Air has stopped flights to Riyadh until October 24 and to Jeddah until October 21.
Saudi Airlines continues to operate scheduled flights from Dammam, Jeddah, and Medina to India. Flynas is running flights from Dammam to Lucknow, and Flydeal has announced flights from Dammam to Mumbai for October 17-18.
The embassy advised Indian nationals needing to leave Saudi Arabia immediately to consider traveling via Bahrain, Kuwait, or Qatar, provided they possess the necessary visas.
For those planning to travel to Saudi Arabia, including for Umrah, the embassy cautioned about potential disruptions at airports and the likelihood of flight cancellations, which may result in longer-than-expected stays.
In light of the recent attacks, India’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Vipul, released a video message for the Indian community. He condemned the assaults on civilian facilities and infrastructure in the Kingdom.
The embassy has established a helpline for Umrah travelers facing difficulties and urged those planning to travel from India to be mindful of possible disruptions.
Ambassador Vipul emphasized the need for calm and vigilance during these times, particularly in the event of airstrikes. He reminded citizens that sharing any photos or videos related to the attacks is against Saudi law and could lead to complications.
