Trump Sparks Tensions with Controversial Map of Iran

Washington, May 24: President Donald Trump remains highly active on social media, often making headlines with his posts. The ongoing tension between the United States and Iran has escalated further after Trump shared a provocative image on Truth Social, displaying the American flag over a map of Iran.

The map, which Trump posted, depicts the Middle East with Iran prominently marked by the U.S. flag. At the top of the image, it reads “United States of Middle East.” Other countries in the region, including Turkey, Syria, Iraq, and Saudi Arabia, are shown, but they do not feature the American flag.

According to CNN, Trump met with top U.S. national security officials on Friday to discuss potential strategies regarding Iran. This session at the White House is a regular occurrence for Trump, but it comes at a time when diplomatic efforts are underway to secure a deal to end the conflict.

While the meeting concluded without any definitive decisions, Secretary of State Marco Rubio indicated on Saturday that updates could be forthcoming. Speaking to media during his visit to India, Rubio stated, “As I speak to you, work is still ongoing. There is a possibility that we may have something to announce later today, tomorrow, or in the coming days.”

Meanwhile, Iran’s state news agency IRNA reported that Ismail Baghaei, spokesperson for Iran’s Foreign Ministry, mentioned that delegations from Qatar and Pakistan had traveled to Tehran in hopes of ending the fighting.

Frustrated with the slow pace of negotiations, Trump has been presented with options to resume military action. He revealed that he was just an hour away from ordering an attack earlier this week but decided against it at the request of Gulf nations. On Friday, he canceled plans to visit his golf resort in New Jersey for the weekend and confirmed he would not attend his son’s wedding in the Bahamas, citing the situation with the government and his love for America.
