Washington, April 13: President Donald Trump has announced the commencement of a maritime blockade, issuing a stern warning to destroy any Iranian ships that approach. He stated that the same “kill system” used against drug traffickers will be employed.
On Monday, Trump reiterated his stance on Truth Social, maintaining an aggressive tone. He emphasized that the U.S. military intentionally did not target a “fast attack ship.”
Trump reiterated, “Iran’s navy has been sunk and is completely devastated. We have destroyed 158 of their ships. We spared some that they call fast attack ships, as we believe they pose no threat to us.”
He further warned that if any of these ships come near the blockade, they will be immediately destroyed using the same “kill system” that is used against drug dealers at sea.
Highlighting the effectiveness of the kill system, he claimed it has led to a ban on 98.2% of drugs entering the U.S. via maritime routes.
It is important to note that the maritime blockade imposed by President Trump against Iran has officially begun. This decision took effect on Monday at 7:30 PM (U.S. time, 10 AM local time).
In previous posts, Trump had indicated that any ship attempting to pass through Hormuz would be stopped and inspected. Special attention will be given to vessels that pay illegal tolls to Iran. Ships that provide illegal tolls to Iran will not be granted safe passage. According to Trump, “This will diminish Iran’s economic power.”
