Trump Claims US-Iran Deal Nears Completion, Hopes for Reduced Tensions in the Middle East

Washington, June 12: President Donald Trump announced that the United States and Iran are very close to finalizing an agreement that would prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons. This development raises the likelihood of a signed deal and reduced tensions in the Middle East within days.

Speaking to reporters at the White House, Trump stated that negotiations have progressed significantly, and final documents are now being prepared.

“We have reached a very good agreement to resolve the ongoing dispute with Iran. Only the documents need to be finalized, which should be completed in the next few days. We have an agreement that ensures Iran will never possess nuclear weapons,” Trump said.

He indicated that signatures on the agreement could happen “very soon,” possibly during a formal ceremony in Europe by the end of the week. However, he hinted that if this occurs, Vice President J.D. Vance would represent the U.S.

Trump revealed that he has spoken with leaders from several countries involved in this diplomatic effort, including Israel, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and Kuwait.

According to Trump, the most crucial aspect of the proposed agreement is that Iran will permanently abandon any plans to develop or acquire nuclear weapons.

“They will not buy, develop, or possess nuclear weapons in any form. They will not have nuclear weapons,” he affirmed.

When asked if Iran’s Supreme Leader had approved this arrangement, Trump replied, “As far as I know, the answer is yes.”

He described the framework of the agreement as a very strong memorandum of understanding (MOU) that has garnered support from several influential countries in the region.

“This is a very detailed MOU, with the agreement of many countries that have significant influence over Iran. Once the agreement is signed, maritime blockades related to the conflict will be lifted,” Trump stated.

He added that as soon as the agreement is signed, the Strait of Hormuz will reopen, potentially by Saturday or Monday. Trump claimed that the U.S. has been actively ensuring the safe passage of ships through one of the world’s most critical oil transport routes, the Strait of Hormuz.

“We have secured safe passage for many ships, allowing millions, if not billions, of barrels of oil to transit through,” he noted. Trump asserted that recent military pressure has shifted Iran’s stance, making them more willing to negotiate.

He mentioned that Iran has suffered significant losses, stating, “They want this deal more than I do.” He also claimed that Iran’s military capabilities have been severely impacted during the conflict.

Trump concluded by emphasizing the primary goal of the negotiations, reiterating that Iran will not possess or acquire nuclear weapons under any circumstances.
