Trump Celebrates First Flight of New Air Force One After 37 Years

Washington, July 2: U.S. President Donald Trump made a significant announcement during his visit to North Dakota. He revealed that his trip was not just a historical event but also marked the first official flight of the newly refurbished Air Force One in 37 years. Trump praised the aircraft, calling it a “magnificent plane,” and noted that this flight made his visit even more special.

While addressing supporters in Medora, North Dakota, on Wednesday, Trump first mentioned Air Force One before honoring former President Theodore Roosevelt for his contributions to the nation.

“This was the first official flight of the aircraft named Air Force One in 37 years. It is an outstanding plane. Traveling with Doug Burgum and everyone else was a great experience. We also discussed Theodore Roosevelt, who was truly a remarkable individual,” Trump stated.

The President emphasized that this trip was particularly meaningful as he was paying tribute to an American leader he has long admired.

“I am honoring Theodore Roosevelt. I have praised him for a long time. To be honest, I rarely admire people, but he is one of them,” Trump added.

Trump visited Medora to attend the inauguration ceremony of the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library, making him the first sitting president to participate in such an event.

During the ceremony, Trump presented a Congressional Medal of Honor awarded to Theodore Roosevelt from the White House’s Roosevelt Room to the library. This moment was regarded as one of the most emotional and historic highlights of the event.

Doug Burgum, the U.S. Interior Secretary, described Trump’s presence as a “historic moment.” He mentioned that when the library officially opens to the public, visitors will be able to hear a recorded excerpt of Roosevelt’s famous speech, “Man in the Arena,” in Trump’s voice.

“President Trump is today’s ‘Man in the Arena,’ and we take pride in his participation in the inauguration of this presidential library,” Burgum remarked.

Trump also praised the new library, calling it an “excellent museum, wonderful library, and outstanding center,” expressing confidence that it would become a significant place in the future.

“I am certain this place will be very successful. It is a part of America that I hold dear,” he said.

On this occasion, Trump announced federal funding of $750,000 for the library’s initial exhibitions through the National Endowment for the Humanities.

However, the White House has not provided additional technical details about the new Air Force One aircraft mentioned by Trump in his speech. Nevertheless, he made it clear that this flight was among the most important achievements of his visit.

It is worth noting that Air Force One is not the name of a specific aircraft but the official air traffic control call sign used when a U.S. Air Force plane is carrying the president.
