Tripuras Development and Welfare Progress Under CM Manik Saha

Agartala, March 18: Tripura’s Chief Minister Manik Saha stated on Wednesday that the BJP government in the state prioritizes good governance, development, and public welfare. He emphasized that Tripura is making steady progress across all sectors.

While addressing the assembly during the budget session, he expressed gratitude for Governor Indrasen Reddy Nallu’s speech. Saha noted that the governor’s address comprehensively highlighted the state’s achievements, ongoing welfare schemes, and future plans.

The budget session of the Tripura Assembly commenced on March 13 and will continue until March 25. During this period, the governor delivered a traditional address to the house.

The Chief Minister remarked that the governor’s speech reflects confidence in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a “Developed India 2047.” He added that Tripura has aligned its development plans with this goal, asserting that the nation’s progress depends on the development of each state.

Discussing the economic situation, CM Saha revealed that Tripura’s growth rate has reached approximately 10-11%, significantly higher than the national average of 7.4%. He attributed this growth to the collaboration of all sections of society since 2018.

Highlighting improvements in the education sector, he stated that Tripura’s literacy rate has risen from 87.75% in 2011 to 95.6% now. According to UNICEF standards, the state is recognized as the third fully literate state in the country.

He also mentioned that new degree colleges are being established in Ambassa, Kakraban, and Karbook to strengthen educational infrastructure. Additionally, a proposal has been made to upgrade the women’s college in Agartala to a university to provide more opportunities for women’s higher education.

In response to opposition criticism, the Chief Minister noted that many amendments proposed regarding the governor’s address appeared to be made without thorough study. He urged the opposition to offer constructive cooperation.

CM Saha reiterated that Tripura is committed to advancing national development while maintaining a continuous focus on good governance, economic growth, and public welfare.
