Agartala, March 6: Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha stated on Friday that the opposition CPI-M is hoping for internal conflicts within the BJP and dreams of reinstating a Left Front government by ousting the current party from power.
The Chief Minister emphasized that the existing state government is committed to transparency and working for the welfare of the people. Speaking at the BJP’s ‘Yuva Shankhnaad’ program in Dharmanagar, North Tripura district, Saha remarked, “Despite being a small state, Tripura is progressing in the right direction across all parameters. The state has won 347 awards at the national level. However, the opposition fails to recognize the real development taking place in the state.”
During his address, he paid tribute to the late Speaker of the Tripura Assembly, Biswabandhu Sen, describing his passing as an irreplaceable loss. Sen, elected from Dharmanagar, passed away on December 26 last year.
Saha expressed, “His sudden demise has truly left us with an irreplaceable loss. We will work together to complete his unfinished tasks. He was also connected to the art of Jatra (open-air folk theater) and envisioned the complete development of Dharmanagar. We aim to fulfill that dream not just through words but through actions.”
He noted that peace has been maintained in Tripura due to the efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “Previously, traveling to Agartala required security escorts. Now, there is peace in Tripura and the entire Northeast. Opposition leaders are preoccupied with dreaming, while we work from 6 AM until midnight. We want to reach the people through our work, but they are sitting idle, hoping for conflicts within the BJP. They dream of removing the BJP and reinstating the Left Front government,” he added.
The Chief Minister accused the opposition of aligning with individuals with whom they previously had serious conflicts involving violence, terrorism, arson, and other crimes.
He further stated, “They are now constantly thinking about how to regain power, showing no concern for working for the people.”
Saha highlighted that Tripura has achieved 347 national awards and has secured top positions in deregulation and compliance across India.
He concluded, “For this success, Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised Tripura in a meeting with Chief Secretaries held in Delhi and encouraged other major states to learn from us. Despite being a small state, Tripura is moving in the right direction.”
