Train Schedule Changes Due to Track Maintenance in Malda Division

Malda, April 21: The Eastern Railway has announced changes to the train schedules in the Malda Division due to essential track maintenance. The work will take place between Ballalpur and New Farakka on the up line, affecting train operations.

According to railway officials, this maintenance work is expected to continue until May 31, 2026. During this period, a four-hour block will be implemented every Thursday and Sunday from 1:45 PM to 5:45 PM. Train movement will be temporarily halted on the tracks to ensure the repair work is completed safely.

As a result of this block, the schedules for some passenger trains have been adjusted. Train number 53434, which runs from Barharwa to Azimganj, will be delayed by 120 minutes (two hours) on the blocked days. Similarly, train number 63422 from Sahibganj to Azimganj will be rescheduled by 60 minutes (one hour) during this time.

Railway officials emphasize that these measures are taken to ensure passenger safety and improve track conditions. Regular maintenance and inspection of the tracks are essential for safe and smooth train operations.

Passengers may experience some inconvenience due to these changes. However, the railway administration urges travelers to cooperate during this period.

Additionally, officials recommend that passengers check their train schedules before traveling to avoid any issues. The railway will monitor train operations closely during this time and may implement additional arrangements if necessary. The overall goal of this initiative is to provide passengers with a safer and more efficient travel experience in the future.
