Shiv Sena Leader Neelam Gorhe Critiques Congress President Kharges Remarks

Mumbai, April 22: Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge recently made controversial remarks about Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a press conference in Chennai. In response, Shiv Sena leader Neelam Gorhe has fired back at the Congress party.

In an interview, Gorhe questioned why a party that imposed the Emergency, imprisoned thousands, and committed atrocities for forced sterilization would label Prime Minister Modi a terrorist. She stated, “It seems that the Congress ideology has become polluted. They are making such statements due to their continuous defeats.”

Gorhe further criticized Congress for its tradition of spreading falsehoods, which she believes is why they resort to using derogatory language. She highlighted that PM Modi engages with the public through his ‘Mann Ki Baat’ initiative and strives to benefit the people, especially women. “PM Modi is advancing India’s traditions,” she added, suggesting that Kharge’s comments were an attempt to appease his senior leaders.

She also mentioned that if Kharge were to apologize, it would be acceptable, but noted that Congress is gradually losing touch with the public.

Regarding the failure to pass the Women’s Reservation Bill in the Lok Sabha, Gorhe pointed out that Congress has been in power multiple times but lacked the will to advance this legislation. She accused them of trying to appease the Samajwadi Party, stating, “During elections, they make promises, but PM Modi has attempted to implement it before the elections.”

Gorhe remarked that when the NDA had a majority in 2023, Congress supported them because they needed to participate in the elections. Now that they realize their support might be required again, they have changed their stance, preventing the bill from passing. “Congress has always misled the public,” she asserted.

She concluded by expressing that Congress fears their voter base is shifting to the NDA, and if more women enter politics, their situation could worsen, leading them to conspire against this change.
