
Patna, May 14: A severe road accident occurred in the Daudpur police station area of Bihar’s Saran district on Thursday. A high-speed truck collided head-on with an auto-rickshaw on NH-531, resulting in the deaths of three individuals.
The incident took place near the Purab Sonia Bridge at around 5:00 AM. The identities of the deceased have not yet been confirmed. Preliminary investigations indicate that the auto-rickshaw driver and two passengers were traveling from Chapra to Ekma when the speeding truck struck their vehicle.
The impact was so intense that the auto-rickshaw was completely mangled, leaving its occupants severely injured. A police team arrived at the scene and transported the injured to the community health center in Ekma.
Tragically, one individual succumbed to their injuries en route to the hospital. The other two injured were admitted to the sadar hospital in Chapra, where they later passed away due to their critical conditions.
Authorities have seized both the truck and the auto-rickshaw and have initiated an investigation into the incident. The police are examining all aspects of the case.
An FIR has been filed against the truck driver under relevant sections for negligence and speeding at the Daudpur police station. The driver has been on the run since the accident.
Saran police have placed the bodies in the morgue and are working to inform the families of the deceased about this tragic event.
