Noida, October 8 (Daily Kiran) : In Noida, chaos erupted late at night near the Sector-81 metro station when a man, reportedly under the influence of alcohol, jumped into a drain following a dispute with his wife. The incident prompted immediate action from local authorities, including the police, fire department, and teams from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF).
Rescue operations began promptly after the police received notifications from nearby residents. The search for the man lasted approximately eight hours, hampered by the darkness and the swift current of the drain.
According to police reports, the argument between the couple escalated, leading the man to leap into the drain in a fit of anger. Witnesses alerted authorities, and a team from the Sector-39 police station quickly arrived on the scene to initiate the search.
The challenging conditions of the drain complicated the rescue efforts. Given the seriousness of the situation, additional resources were deployed, including personnel from the fire department and specialized rescue teams.
