Tragic Incident in Mainpuri: Three Lives Lost as Tin Shed Collapses

Mainpuri, March 18: A tragic incident unfolded in the Aithapura village of Mainpuri district on Tuesday night when a tin shed collapsed due to a falling mud wall. This unfortunate event resulted in the deaths of three individuals, while three others are currently receiving medical treatment.

Brijesh Singh Jatav was sleeping with his family under the tin shed when the wall gave way. The victims included 40-year-old Ruby, 8-year-old Dileep, and Brijesh’s daughter, Devi. Injured in the incident were 50-year-old Brijesh Singh Jatav, 15-year-old Gudiya, and 5-year-old Pallavi.

Upon receiving news of the accident, local police arrived at the scene, conducted an inquest, and sent the bodies for post-mortem examination. The loss of three lives has caused widespread panic in the area.

It is worth noting that a similar incident occurred on February 8, 2026, in Sector 142 of Noida, where two workers lost their lives when a construction site collapsed. The police took immediate action, detaining the contractor and supervisor responsible for the site. The shuttering of the under-construction building had suddenly given way, injuring three workers, two of whom were later declared dead at the hospital.

DCP Shakti Awasthi stated that the situation was promptly addressed, and the supervisor and contractor were taken into custody for negligence. He assured that the police would investigate the matter and return the bodies to their families after identification.

Last year, a similar incident in Greater Noida resulted in the death of a worker when a slab collapsed during construction, highlighting ongoing safety concerns in the region.
