Rahul Gandhi to Attend Tribal Rights Conference in Vadodara on March 23

Vadodara, March 20: Rahul Gandhi, the leader of the opposition in the Lok Sabha, will participate in a conference focused on tribal rights in Vadodara on March 23. The Congress party is ramping up preparations for upcoming local body elections in Gujarat, as confirmed by party leaders on Friday.

Gandhi is expected to attend the ‘Tribal Constitutional Rights Conference’ from 1 PM to 4 PM, which will see participation from members of tribal communities in central and eastern Gujarat.

Rajendra Kumar Parghi, the president of the Tribal Congress of the Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC), stated that Gandhi will be present in Vadodara for this one-day visit.

He mentioned that the conference is anticipated to draw a large crowd. Sources indicate that GPCC president Amit Chavda is expected to announce a detailed schedule during a press conference tomorrow.

Gandhi is also likely to meet with state party leadership to review preparations for the upcoming local body elections and by-elections.

This visit comes shortly after the Congress party formed several state-level committees to coordinate its election strategy in Gujarat. The committees have been established for strategy, campaign management, election operations, manifesto preparation, and media outreach.

Senior Congress leader Bharat Singh Solanki has been appointed as the head of the strategy committee, while Rajya Sabha MP Shakti Singh Gohil will lead the campaign committee. Senior leader Siddharth Patel has been designated as the head of the election management committee.

An official from the party revealed that these committees are tasked with planning election campaigns and overseeing election management across all local bodies in the state.
