Tragic Electrocution Claims Lives of Couple in Rajasthan While Rescuing Livestock
A couple in Rajasthan died from electrocution while trying to save their livestock from a fallen power line.

Jandu Ki Dhani, Khimsar, Rajasthan, October 22 (Daily Kiran) : In a heartbreaking incident in Jandu Ki Dhani, located in the Khimsar area of Rajasthan, a couple lost their lives due to electrocution while attempting to rescue their livestock. The tragedy unfolded when a high-voltage power line fell onto a metal fence near their animal pen on Thursday.
Reports indicate that the couple was trying to save their sheep and goats after the line broke and struck the fence. Witnesses say that as the electric current spread through the fence, their son, Rawatram Kadwasra, rushed inside to help the animals. Unfortunately, he was hit by a severe electric shock upon entering the pen.
Seeing her husband in danger, Veer Devi, his wife, attempted to save him. However, as she touched the metal gate, she too was electrocuted, resulting in both of their deaths on the spot.
This tragic event has sparked outrage among local residents, who claim that the power line had been down for a day prior to the incident. They allege that they had informed the electricity department about the danger, but no action was taken to cut the power supply or repair the broken line.
Community members believe that had the necessary precautions been implemented earlier, this disaster could have been averted. They are now demanding strict action against those responsible and calling for an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident, including a potential charge of involuntary manslaughter.
Following the incident, a team from the Nagana police station, along with the officer in charge of the Batadu police post, arrived at the scene and disconnected the power supply. The police have taken possession of the bodies, which have been sent to the Batadu mortuary for post-mortem examination. A veterinary team also visited the site to assess the deceased livestock and will conduct post-mortems as necessary.
Reports indicate that only one goat survived the incident. The police stated that further legal action would depend on the family’s complaint and the results of a technical investigation.
The local community is in mourning, awaiting answers regarding the circumstances of the electrocution and whether there was indeed a delay in repairing the faulty power line.
